On the way from Iquique to San Pedro de Atacama we crossed the Loa valley and stopped to admire the ocean. For this journey, the new Peugeot Landtrek trucks presented the ideal suspension to cross coastal and sandy routes.
We continue the route to Calama and 10 minutes away we found the surprising wind farm Valle de los Vientos, one of the first producers of unconventional renewable energy in Chile, where up to 90 MW of energy is produced. We wanted to visit this place because of the importance of climate change and to know some of the Chilean lands that are ideal for this type of energy.
On the way to San Pedro de Atacama, the Ckachi Causama, a happy folkloric group from the area received us at the entrance of San Pedro, where, accompanied by a spectacular view of the Cordillera de la Sal they delighted us with their music and typical Atacameños costumes, the ideal panorama to close this day in the immensity of the driest desert in the world.
